If you wake up most mornings feeling a little sluggish, and tend to do the “zombie-walk” into the kitchen to start a pot of coffee, this smoothie is for you! If you simply enjoy a breakfast that is incredibly delicious, chock full of protein and healthy fat, you will likely fall in love as well. This is a kick-you-in-the-butt, get-yourself-moving, start-the-day-off-right kinda smoothie. I happen to be one of those annoying bright-eyed, bushy-tailed types of morning people, but I usually hit a slump around midday. This smoothie helped kick my afternoon into full-gear, and I blew through all my chores like a champ. I can see myself enjoying it again, and again, and again…
Ingredients:
- 1 frozen banana, sliced into small chunks
- 1 ounce (1 piece) Honey Mama’s Nibs & Coffee bar
- 1 large Medjool date
- 1 T. hemp seeds
- 1 T. collagen peptides (I use this brand)
- ½ tsp. vanilla extract
- ½ tsp. gelatinized maca
- 1 c. milk (I used unsweetened almond milk)
Directions:
Place all of the ingredients in a high-powered blender, and blend for about 45 seconds.
Note:
If you are vegan, you can sub your favorite protein powder, nut butter, or another tablespoon of hemp seeds for the collagen peptides.
